Whilst most humanitarian charitable organisations and NGOs often place due emphasis on alleviating the immediate needs of the poor and destitute, the long-term sustainability of families and entire communities is overlooked.
The Income Generation Project aims to provide tools, resources and the teaching of skills to help communities become self-sufficient and independent, by endeavouring to provide:
- tools for the cultivation of crops and agriculture
- farming and nurture of livestock
- knowledge and equipment for housing, maintenance and repair
- rickshaws, machinery, fishing nets and equipment, etc. for enterprise and financial stability
